Problem , problem , problem .... TaskAlfa 4500i with Finisher,Mailbox, cassette 2*550 and Dp...

The paper Jams ALWAYS in duplex mode ( jam code 518 ) .

Ideas ????

Heard that some of this range of TA (ci ) has clutch issues getting rusty/corroded not sure if it applies to this model also?

Make sure the finisher is level and depending on when it was manufactured check the 3500/4500/5500 Troubleshooting Guide. Kyocera made some changes to rollers, bushings and gate in the Attachment kit area.

We have 200-300 of these units and have had at least 2-3 dozen problems of this kind(J518 J4113,J4413),all in duplex mode. We have been replacing complete conveying units (which are warrantied) and once replaced, problem is permanently solved. I know this sounds extreme to a lot of 'old school' techs but a lot of these accounts have swapped out their small personal printers in favor of a few MFPs per floor and downtime is not an option so replacing a complete unit eliminates all the problem component(s) in one fell swoop.
