    FS-1118 (CD1316)

    Hey guys

    Have you had similar issue?

    Have a FS-1118 or Utax CD1316 and it came with error C7980 changed the drume, did drum reset..remained the same. Still showing Service Call 7980. Falshed it with latest firmware. Still same fault. The last option is changing either waste toner sensor or MFP/HV board as suggested in Service Manual.
    Small machine but always a piggy to work on ..

    Any ideas before I start putting it apart?

    I had one do this at about 28k. They were using compatible toner. Gets a little dusty inside. I removed the drum unit, knocked a few times on the cartridge, cleaned the sensor in the machine that sits above the cartridge, inserted the cartridge and all was fine. There are some post on Copytechnet where some have vacuumed out the toner from the drum unit. Try this link and do a search for FS 1128 c7980 and see what you get.       is the waste toner in the drum unit full?
