Taskalfa 3500i scan to email error.

Customer called me with a intermittent scanning issue and I was wondering if any of you could help. Unable to get a error number but they were nice enough to snap a pic of the error. Here's what I know, not much but here goes.

Taskalfa 3500i with most recent firmware. When scanning to email they get the error seen below. The scan goes through just fine but, this error comes up, it beeps a lot and must be cleared in order for the machine to function. It's not a big deal, they just find it annoying. Of course, this is intermittent and never when I'm there. Nothing shows up in the machine management so I don't know the error code.

Can the display of network errors be disabled? Really strange that there's a send error but, the scan goes through fine.

Maybe theres another device on the network with the same IP-adress. Had the same with a Ricoh MP C2500 a few years ago. Turned out that when some of the workers connected his laptop to the network, the Ricoh stopped sending email. Also make sure that the IP-adress of the machine is not in the Lease List of the DHCP-server.

The machine will give a 4 digit error code on the panel when it fails. I'd have them write that number on the error report that it prints as it will not be on there. That can help you narrow it down. If I'd have to take a guess that it's intermittent I'd look at what the smtp server timeout is set at and maybe bump it up 30-60 seconds. Might also check that the email file size is set at 0.

of course their IT people aren't on site and hard to get a hold of but, that's not surprising these days. I'll try these ideas and see what happens. Thanks!
