FS-6525 Interrupting Faxes to make copies?

    Hello everyone,

Is there a way to make it so that if an FS-6525 printing out received faxes, you can program it to automatically interrupt the fax when someone goes to make a copy prior to finishing printing out the fax? Without having to press any buttons?

If not, will the interrupt key interrupt faxes?

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Just because you're not paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you.

    Is this a dumb question?

So the customer can't wait for incoming faxes? Are they receiving so many faxes that they can't wait for it to finish printing?

I don't think that there's a way to interrupt the printing of faxes. Maybe you can forward the faxes to an email adress? Then they don't have to wait.

It's for a possible sale to a doctor's office. They receive faxes pretty regularly and when they need a copy of something for a customer, they don't want to have to wait for a fax to finish printing if they happen to be receiving one at the time.

I think most of their faxes need to be printed out so they can filed or something, so they would have to print them out again if fax forwarding was turned on.

        Thanks for the feedback!

We have a med supply place that does this too. They actually have a machine dedicated to receive faxes only, maybe occasionally make a copy. They print and make copies to another machine in the building. Other than manually interrupting, I don't think there is any way to set up priority over the other.

if i remember correct you can change fax settings that fax wont be printed but send to email or smb folder. there is even option to suspend machine form printing and even copy if you need but don't know if this option exist in that model.

Best option is Email - works great in all my customer (they always have copy of fax in email and only exception is when mail server not working then machine print fax :P)

On most machines, you can set faxes to bulk print. That way the all the pages of the fax will print only after the whole transmission is received instead of one page at a time as they come in. I ran into this issue in a medical office. The nurse was complaining that the machine was slow, because she would see each page print as it was received. Sometimes that could be 30 or more pages, and some of these pages had a lot of info on the EKG's ect. If the pages don't start printing until the whole document is received the wait time is minimal.

That's what ended up happening. They already had an 1135 for making copies and an older fax machine. We replaced that with another 1135 instead of selling them one 6525 to replace both.

That would have been counter-intuitive since all the faxes would have needed to be printed out anyway for filing purposes or something.

Not a bad idea for future reference. Thanks!
