    Kyocera Taskalfa 820 Jam 83/63

    Hello,

I've been having a few jam issues with a few of these copiers. One was Jam 83 and the other Jam63.

I've sorted Jam 83 by replacing the two small solenoids located in the finisher. I was finding that the speed of the paper guide direction
wasn't quick enough and the paer was going in the wrong direction. However, Jam 63 is a little different. If the copier is on a large run it jams on the first page, once removed it will happily go on for ages. But once it stops and a copy is put through, again a single Jam 63 will occur. Remove the jam, and off it goes for hours again.

    Odd one.

    Help would be appreciated.

I have the manual for this copier so I don't need to buy one, thanks.

When the paper jams is it jamming at the exit area/finisher area? It sounds like your exit/duplex gate is sticking. might check the solenoid, or the pads on the gate itself and make sure it isn't sticking for that first one and then unhanging. I had one that was giving me this jam but it was an exit pulley gear that the two connecting stubs had broken on, so that doesn't sound like your problem but is a good one to know about in the future as that gear will break in time. Might also check that all your gears and pulleys on the back side of the exit unit aren't gummed up and sticky.

      Hello,

Thank you for the reply, Yes, I've also had the gear with the little stubs break. I think the duplex gate is the same issue with the solenoid. It does work, but like Jam 83 it might not be quick enough. I'll get it changed and post on here my result.I was hoping someone had the same issue.
