Re: Silent mode
Silent mode will double the life of fusers in the 6500i and 8000i models. I have 20 of these models and I use silent mode on all of them. Only 3 fuser failures last year. The rest made PM cycles. Im told by other techs that silent mode will be noticable by customer on the color models. Slows down 1st copy speed quit a bit. -
Re: Silent mode
If I'm not mistaken it shuts of the laser sooner. Your laser will last a lot longer. But it take a few extra seconds for it to get up to speed on first copy. So makes machine a little slower.? The laser can be a little noisy so silent mode makes it quite. ???
I'm sure some of the Kyocera experts will know for sure.Comment

Re: Silent mode
I have only used it on two machines. On a 6500i the customer was happy with the noise reduction and we did not notice the slow 1st copy time. On a 4550 the 1st copy is very slow customer was not happy so I turned silent mode back off. 50% sucess rate. Thanks for your in put.Comment
