    Scan to SMB

Just became a dealer. This is all new to me. When setting up scan to SMB, does the PC you want to scan to have to have a User Name and Password to log onto the PC?

Also read the User Manual. Most manuals have a step-by-step procedure to set it up.

Yes you need name and password for smb scan, the password can be left blank, or you could scan to ftp that does not require name and password

Thanks everyone. Very helpful. Good thing, the customer already had user name and password on the PCs. Worked great.

I'd say 100% of the Windows 7 Home Premium OS I have come across require a username AND password. For Windows XP and below, I have never had a problem with a PC that is not password protected. As for Windows Vista +, except Windows 7 Home Premium, it just depends. If it doesn't work, then they need to have a password protected user account.
