[Misc] Dirty Prints Kyocera FS-C5100DN both sides NOT the fuser

Called out to a Kyocera FS-C5100DN. Dirty prints on both sides of the page - puts a 2 inch band of speckled black onto the REAR of the page before doing the reverse side. Overall page surface lightly mottled with grey smudges.

Obtained Brand New Fuser unit as that was suspect - no change.

    Any thoughts please?

Would help if you could attach a sample of those prints. You could clean and vacuum clean the printer 1st than see how it looks.

Overall, one of the problems with that particular model (in my own experience) is the waste toner drainage inside the transfer belt. The waste toner can get stuck at the back side of the belt and spill it around, which results in dirty prints. I usually disassemble the belt, vacuum clean it and make sure that the back gears are not "skipping" (can happen if one of the plastic pins that hold the waste toner plastic frame get slightly bent). I just heat the pin a bit with a lighter and straighten it up.

This is both sides of single sided test print - the BACK side soils before the print side. print side gets dirtied on the second pass. heavy band of soiling is the leading edge.

Is the black PCU binding/locking up ?
Is the customer using aluminium backed pharmacy foils through the machine? These foils create a build up of glue through the machine very quickly. It builds up on the ITB and paper path guides.
It's a big job to clean out.

Make sure the black PCU is down in it's home position and the plastic locking tab is fixed in the locking keyway.
