    km-5035 no power

    hello everyone,

according to my client, the machine km-5035 has a message "insert key counter" and then when they turned it off and on, there is no more power. after many hours of standby they tried to turn it on again and there was power but when they turned it off and on again, there is no more power. i tried replacing the fuse, the machine socket for the power cord and the power cord from another working machine maybe there is loose contact but when i turned it on, the fan near the power socket functioned for a few seconds and then it stopped. there is no more power.

i already found the solution about the insert key counter problem.
i need help for the no power problem.

    thank you in advance.

Have you tried replacing the Power source board and not just the socket?

That's what I would do first. The power supply board . You can get fuser error codes if that board goes bad . I havent had no power at all problem but that's what I would do first at this point.

I had a 4035 once that would just die ... no power. I could unplug the machine for about 20 minutes and it would come back up and run for a little while. Power supply fixed it.

You can have power supply problems, also sometimes when the fan starts and then stops something is drawing too much current and this can be the main circuit board as well. Also sometimes the main filter cap on the power supply has solder issues.

thank you all for your help. i am thinking that maybe something else damaged the power supply board and if i replace it, the new one will be damaged also and it is quiet expensive or some cold solder like kkendric mentioned.
                  i'll try your solutions.
many thanks to all. more power!

There are people that have lots of parts machines around here. I bet you could get the board cheap??? Don't buy a new one.
