On the MFP, set the MP tray as the default paper tray.
On the print driver, set the driver to use the default tray as the paper source.

    This should work.

Have you tried using the KX driver?

If I'm understanding this correctly, you would like copy jobs to come out of the first tray by default, and ANY print jobs from the PC to come from the MP tray by default?

If this is correct, go into their control panel --> Devices and Printers --> right click on kyocera driver --> go to Printer properties NOT Properties unless it's an older version of windows --> go to the Advanced tab at the top --> click on "Printing defaults" at the bottom left --> Set the default paper source to be the MP tray.

If this is incorrect and the customer would like only certain jobs from their PC to go to the MP tray by default, then they would have to be taught how to set the MP tray as default for specific documents. to do this --> Go into the document --> Most programs should have a "Page Setup" option either in the file menu or on the initial screen that pops up when you go to file print --> somewhere in the page setup you should be able to setup a default paper source. Once they set it, that setting will remain with that file so they only have to set it once and forget it.

            Hope this helps!

No problem! There is one catch though.

I mentioned in my second option that changing the default paper source in PAGE SETUP per each document will make only certain documents go to the MP tray. This is because any settings, be it default paper source or the paper size, will always override whatever you set in the print driver. if your customer got a document emailed to them, or someone else created it and that someone set the default paper source to ANYTHING other than the very first option, it will ignore what you put in the print driver.

So for example, if a customer's document was downloaded off the internet and whoever created it told the document in page setup to print to the 1st paper tray. You can sit there all day in the print driver telling it to print to the mp tray or tray 2; It will always print to tray 1 until that setting is changed. Just an FYI if setting the default setting in the print driver doesn't work, it's probably something in page setup.
