Setting up a KM 2530 on Mac OSX 10.8 for printing scanning or am I wasting my time?

First of all, I am not a tech, I am an end user. My local tech was not very helpful with the Mac support. I didn't want to throw a bunch of money to find out it won't work anyways.

Anyone have any experience using this copier and computer together? I have the manuals, but all the software I can find appears to be for OSX 10.5 and older and I can't load it. Any help would be appreciated.

If I am wasting everyone's time, say so and I will forget about it.

Printing Should be easy. just download the drivers for 10.7 and use FTP for scanning. You may have to enable the FTP on machine in service mode if it doesn't appear in Network scanner Web page interface.

The TASKalfa 305/255 can dramatically lower your TCO total cost of ownership...Kyocera's SMARTtech is affordable

I am trying to set it up through a wireless network. I have an airport extreme that it will plug directly into. Is there a model that is similar to this one that would show wireless setup? I am not a total idiot when it comes to computers, I just need to know where to start. I have downloaded the installer for 10.7 and will start with that. All the tutorials are for windows and non wireless networking.

        Thanks guys.

I am having trouble understanding how I am supposed to set it up. I am not running the internet through the airport network. When I print out the status page for the KM 2530 there is nothing about a MAC address, everything I can see for setup says I need one. What should I be doing. I can see how to change the IP address if needed, but when I go to set things up in the airport utility, it wants a MAC address. I have not tried hooking it up direct to the computer yet, I do not have a long enough ethernet cable. I can bring in my laptop and try that as well. Is there a good tutorial?

I guess I am not as smart as I thought. You lost me on the IP address you typed in. Where did that come from? The one where you first went to safari? You typed 192.168.1.23 where did you get that from?

I still can't figure out how to print and that is probably more important than scanning.

Why would you think the local techs were not interested in setting it up for me? I paid the company to do a full cleaning and look over, so it works fine as the stand alone copier. They made it sound like a Mac was a deal killer???

I downloaded the drivers that I was shown earlier in this thread, but when you search google there is not much information and all the drivers that come up are for older versions of OSX. If I was trying to hook up directly to a computer, I would probably be fine. I am lost when trying to take an ethernet printer and hook it up to a router, then make it work over my wireless network. The local techs that handle these machines were not reassuring when it came to the "Mac" aspect of the installation.

Does anyone know how to find the MAC address for the KM-2530?

Do you have ethernet ports on machine?
Do you have router or switch?
You should not need mac address for use with MAC OSX!! Just IP is fine. Download user manual for this machine and you find printer and scan configs there. Try paul@justmanuals.com he can supply you with aervice manuals as well!
