    [Jamming] TASKalfa 820 JAM 64

    Hi guys

    Need some help with a Taskalfa 820 jamming constantly in the duplex section. More specifically it is a constant Jam 64. It just feeds in and stops. It doesnt matter if it is portrait or landscape, just stops in the same position.

    A4 Zoomed out.jpg A4.jpg and a close up -->Close up.jpg

    We have checked all related switches and they are ok. After searching this site, we had ordered the duplex switchback roller, but its been fitted and hasn't made any difference!

    Any other suggestions!?

    Thanks!

    Did you check Duplex conveying switch 1 (DUPCSW1) [23] by sp mode U031?

      Check the plastic roller above the switchback roller and make sure it turns easily. I had one that got so packed up with toner it took over 15 minutes just to get the shaft out of the roller (this was in a KM6030 model).

        I think I've seen something like this on KM-6030. I believe your problem is the switch feed that cannot move freely due to the lower feed guide shape that randomly blocks is. You will have to replace LOWER GUIDE FEED SHIFT (302FB21291) with the new modified one (302FB21292). Basically they've just cut off a bit of plastic for the actuator not to get stuck anymore.

          I am having a similar issue. I have replaced the entire duplex tray. Still stopping in the same area. have also swapped all the sensors in the duplex unit and the drive motors.

            Thanks laitang. Yes we have checked the sensors/switches with U031. All are working properly.

              Hi Kyo fan! Yes, there is a bulletin for the lower guide feed shift. Im not sure it is that. I should have mentioned that the machine will copy single sided all day long! Which means the paper is flowing past that switch no problem. I will of course have a look at it just to be sure.

              Has anyone ever had a problem with the duplex solenoids or motors? Think it might be another place to look as well.

              I'll report back! Thanks to all for your help.

                Just an update....

                The one way gear for the refeed roller was rather dirty, so took it out, cleaned it up and hey presto, duplex copies. Will keep an eye on it and possibly replace it if the problem resurfaces.

                Cheers!

                    A lot of the time it is caused by the lower duplex roller. Usually when a copier rolls 2mill you should get in the habit of replacing that roller. 302FB19371 is the part number
