[Error Code] NOTE!!! :: HyPas DMS Link FYI!!!

For anyone out there setting up Kyocera Machines with HyPas DMS Link, I have this "note-to-self" post to tell everyone.

This can be a huge "time waster", so to avoid wasting time, here's the issue:

-DMS Link installed on server and on MFP.

-DMS Link on MFP can see the server, the workflows and can browse the file structure on the server.

    BUT!

-Right before the Document Processor lifts the document to feed and scan you get the error message!:

"Unable to scan or an error occurred during scanning."

...and the DMS Link scan FAILS!

What you will have to do:

-Save your address book off the MFP.

-Do a HDD data sanitize, under the System/Network -->Data Security -->Data Sanitization.

-It will take 4+ hours to "Data Sanitize"

-When done, Reload your Address book and DMS Link HyPas App.

-DONE!--your job will have taken several hours to complete instead of several days!

-PS--KM Net Viewer is your friend. You can copy and save from the same machine or another machine the address book or any other settings you need to fix in the machine you are working on!

Make sure HTTPS and Enhanced WSD is turned on.
These will cause the exact same problems.
Update to the latest firmware which resolves an issue with the machine reverting after a error code ( F27A I think )to some factory default settings.
When the machine has this fault and is restarted, Enhanced WSD is turned off which results in an "unable to scan" error.
Turning Enhanced WSD back on corrects the scan error.
See if your DMS Link failures are happening alongside a fault code.

      YEP!!!

DID ALL OF THE ABOVE!!!--THEN DID A "DATA SANITIZE" per KYOCERA REP!!!

Only the "Data Sanitize" fixed the error!

I tested the DMS Link successfully at the office with another machine and mirrored ALL of the network protocol options!

I DID NOT receive an fault/error code with the fail at the jobsite, it just FAILED!

I am NOT arguing with you, I am passing along what the KYO Rep said might work, IT DID WORK, and I'm posting this information to any/all interested techs!

        CHEERS!

I understand. We've had issues with DMS Link like I described so I thought I should put it out there as well. Thanks for passing it along.

Ours wouldn't code while scanning. We didn't even realize the machine had coded until the third occurrence of the problem over a 6 month period.
The customer was restarting the machine after the code and not mentioning it to us. I printed an error log during the third occurrence and saw the code
then noticed the code had occurred before the other two times as well.

Just mentioning this in case someone else finds this thread during a search and can use this info.
