    KM-4850W web interface issues

Recently our Kyo tech came out to do some service on our KM-4850W. When he was done, we could no longer communicate with the device via the web interface. He came back the next day and ended up replacing two or three more boards and still we cannot access the web interface. Stumped, he said he would have to contact Kyo and he would be back later.

I can ping the unit, we can print to it, scan from it to desktops but no web interface. Any ideas how this got turned off or how to turn it back on?

I have checked all the IP and DNS settings on the device and they are correct. Otherwise, I wouldn't be able to ping or print, right?

Also, when I called our Kyo dealer today, they informed me that the service tech had left the company and they would have to send someone from another office on the other side of the state. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Had a problem like that once. Had to replace the HDD. once thats done then you switch the lang. back to english and register the Lic# on the back of the print controller.

        Good luck

If you are a Staples Store you could try asking your IT guys to fix it remotely.

          I don't have a clue what's wrong, sorry.

What was the original problem? Have you tried to communicate with the controller from other computers, or just the one?

Have had this prob once before.you mau laugh but have u tried changing the cat5 cable or a new port?I was going to suggest reloading to new firmware which is build 9,but you cant see it off the browser.have you tried reloading the linux operating system on the machine?for this you will need a monitor external hard drive and a mouse?the customer should have the disk.failing that u should look at replacing plot/scan sysytemE.This type of fault isnt easy but try with the simple stuff first.your user login by defaut should be
              1-admin
              2-admin.
              Hope this helps.

I had this problem once with a KM-3050. I could ping, print, scan, but could not open the web interface. In my case, i unplugged the ethernet cable, and pinged, and still got a reply! There was a computer on the network that was trying to use the same IP address. I can't remember if it was static or dhcp, but i of course always set the Ip address in the copier statically. Anyway, once the Ip address of the computer was changed, all was resolved.

Tech just installed the new HDD and everything "appears" to be working fine again. Going to give it a workout and see if we can make it fail. Thaks everyone for your suggestions.
