    Mita DC-1470

    Hi people!

I'm new here with some questions. About three years ago I was given a Mita DC-1470 copier along with a slew of older Powermacs and pre-PPC Macs from a publishing company. When I got it home I just shoved it up against the wall in my garage but then decided today to mess around with it and see if it powered up at all. It powered right up but then was displaying a flashing message, "Replace unit". What does that mean and what needs to be done? It is in great cosmetic condition.

I could not find any solid info about this copier on the 'Net--when it was made, the original retail price, etc., etc. What would it be worth should I decide to sell or trade it? I'm kinda leaning towards trading it, but who knows if there's even any demand for these things....

Your input is much appreciated. Thank you and have a nice day!

The replace unit message means it is time for the drum and developer unit to be replaced. in its day it was a decent little machine. You definitely will not get much if any thing on trade. And to replace the units will cost around $400 on average. As old as that machine is, parts will not be made for much longer, as a matter of fact, some have already been discontinued.

I think they came out sometime around the middle of 1998 and probably were discontinued around the end of 2000. The were last of the small analogs form Mita but they were pretty good little machines.

Enter to Simulation pressing STOP ENTER and turn on machine, press STOP again. Go to SIM73 and enter 999999 (in pairs: use exposure keys and hit enter for each pair of numbers). That will make the machine run for thousand copies. Adj sim24 for lightness max to 100
