    Kyocera KM-4035 not pulling paper

I think I've got this narrowed down to the torque limiter, but I'm not sure. It appears the torque limiter is an encasement of ball bearings, but it does not spin freely and has a good bit of resistance to it. A picture is worth a thousand words, so here's some video of the problem in action:

Sometimes when I just spin the gears like this, it will start working again, but not always:

Push starting the gears works almost every time, though is not a desirable solution. lol

So it is the torque limiter, or something else?

your pick up tyre not turning at all so that means you got your feed tyre gear the wrong way round or the bearings have gone inside the one way gear.

Nothing was taken apart, it just started doing that.

To make sure we are talking about the same thing, on page 10 in this parts manual: http://www.arbikas.com/view/locator/..._4035_5035.pdf, the part labeled as #23 is a torque limiter, and it is very stiff. Part #24 is a gear with ball bearings, but it spins freely. Is the torque limiter supposed to spin freely as well?

No, your torque limiter is supposed to provide resistance so the sep roller does not spin freely but still is able to turn during feed. However, your feed roller is on a shaft which has a gear with a one way bearing. If this is slipping, you will see no drive to your pickup roller.

Swap the paper p/u assembly with the other drawer (1 screw on each) see if the problem moves to the other drawer. If it does the problem is in the paper p/u assembly. I can't think of a time that a problem in the paper pickup assembly wasn't resolved by new rollers. If the problem stays in the drawer after the switching of assemblies then check the paper p/u clutch.

In your first video the feed roller and shaft are turning while the gear that drives the take-up roller isn't. I'd say the feed roller and clutch are good, but the gear with a one-way bearing that drives the take-up roller has a bad bearing. This causes a loss of drive to the take-up roller and no paper feed. This is the gear next to the feed roller on the shaft.

It was the one way gear. Thanks to all!
