Re: KM-C2525 black dev leaking question.
please buy yes.
Voyager has a tendency to over crammed toner into the DV. And because of the increase inside pressure and how the auger is shaped it has a tendency to push toner out to where it is weaker ie, driving gears.
design flaw is what it was, rebuild is only a temporary work around.Leave a comment:

If you didn't notice, I was discouraging your trying to interchange yellow for black. It's definitely a risk that you won't be able to use the yellow.
Personally I would not. =^..^=Leave a comment:

Re: KM-C2525 black dev leaking question.
The difference over here is not that much. That's why I was so confused as to why you would waste so much time trying. I do Ricoh too so know all about the dev bag type but Kyocera is not like that. They're methods are all modular.

Re: KM-C2525 black dev leaking question.
I can't think of a surface mounted chip.
This all seems like far too much effort to me. The amount of time you've spent on here posting questions about it alone is probably not worth the difference. How much is the price difference between this 'cheap' yellow dev, and a black dev? Then work in the price of separate black dev powder (sourced elsewhere as not possible from Kyocera) and then add your time spent trying to make a yellow dev, black. Remember that your time is valuable and he customer and employer should see that.

i get info i need to make a decision..
the price difference was $300 vs $85
so if i decided to go the yellow route i would just vacuum most of the yellow toner out
n then let it run replenishing black..
on ricoh colors dev by the bag is available and the black drums can be converted to color units"which cost 3 times of the blk pcus".Leave a comment:

Re: KM-C2525 black dev leaking question.
If it was just the color of the toner in the developer, perhaps you could deplete the yellow and let it replenish with black. Within 150 pages it would completely transition. The second and more important problem is that the yellow dev unit is chipped to be yellow, and will show as yellow unit installed in a black port. =^..^=
regarding the yellow chip on the dev unit, can i swap the chip from the leaking unit?Leave a comment:

Re: KM-C2525 black dev leaking question.
No, powder is not separate on this model. Kyocera machines are mostly just replaceable units. If you tried anyway, you'd end up contaminating your developer. Just get the black dev ordered.

Re: KM-C2525 black dev leaking question.
No, drums may be swapped between colours but dev units contain the colour developer powder so no way to change the colourLeave a comment:
