Anyone know why my relatively new unit is already calling for a black drum replacement when it only has 51000 copies and prints on it (75000 color)? Shouldn't it last around 135,000?

It uses Black as well during colour printing so 75K +51K =126K usage. Pretty close to your life expectancy of 135K , and as most of these are based on continuous printing I would suggest that this would account for the shortfall -
