    [Misc] Printing over Aqueous Coating

    Afternoon everyone,

We out source pre-printed shells, and print over them with laser printers. Vendor just called and said the would like to use an aqueous coating to prevent offsetting.
Does anyone know if toner will stick to this type of coating or if the coating to cause issues with laser equipment? We're ordering 250k and I don't want to get this wrong.

    Thank you,
    Joseph

I haven't done this before, but what I found on Google says it can be done.
Don't take my word for it though, I don't have a clue what type of equipment you have. If your equipment matches any of the manufacturer subcategories listed in the Copier Technical Discussion forum you will find people there that may be able to help, more than I can help right now anyway.
    Good luck!

this is from offsetprinttechnology.com website. I would get about 100 or so sheets and test them on your laser printers .

      Laser Printing
Most aqueous coatings will not re-melt when subjected to a laser printer. In addition, most laser printer inks will not absorb through the aqueous coating and will eventually flake off.
