    [Jamming] IBM Infoprint 2707

hey guys, need your expert advice again. i got this infoprint machine that works fine unless you try printing up more than 10-15 pages at a time. the paper coming out of the finisher just ends up stacking up, without the tray lowering, until the paper gets "jammed" in the finisher. all the rollers and arms work fine on jobs less than 15 pages but anymore than that and the paper doesn't "sit" before the black arm in the center ends up under the paper and thus doesn't sense the stack building up. is this more a sensor issue or is the likely culprit those two mylar strips just not strong enough to force the paper down fast enough. anyone else have this problem? thanks in advance guys.

I only know this machine from the pictures I found during a Google search, so please take this with a grain of salt.
However, those pictures look quite similar to stuff I've worked on (Ricoh PRO 907), and on the off chance that really is the case there should be some foam rollers in that output tray, and it sounds like they are worn out. This is more likely if the stack of paper in that tray is not aligned properly before the machine jams. You can actually watch the paper stack in that tray and see the rollers not doing their job of pulling the paper beneath the tray height feeler.
If the print count is pretty high I suppose it could be the mechanism that drives the foam roller's movement. If the roller movement is not synchronized anyway. I've seen that once and it took me a while to fix, but that was my own fault.
Anyway, hope that helps, and I apologize if not.

not on this brand, but i have some where the foam eject rollers go bad. also, i have had the tray height sensor or bracket get jammed or caught and wont move freely causing this. good luck, Jim
