okidata mps3537 hdd

have a okidata mps3537 whos hdd failed. tried replacing the hdd but apparently this machine used the adi hdd so a non adi hdd drive cant be used. has anyone found a work around for replacing the adi hdd or have a source for resonably priced adi drives?

Have you tried to reload the firmware? Or has the drive completely failed

The hdd has completely failed. we tried a regular hdd but machine wouldnt get past looking for a hdd so we could do firmware on it. getting code f-106 called tech support who said it was because the orginal hdd is an adi hdd and the one we were trying to replace it with was not. basically the machine is looking for code on the hdd thats not there to let the machine know the hdd is installed. just dont want to drop $450 on a hdd if a work around has been found.

I don't blame you. $450.00 for a HD is ridiculous. You may want to try Memory Experts International they may have a third party option

If you have lots of MPS 3537 out there you might want to see if you can a bulk discount on Toshiba HD with wipe technology.You will be going threw a lot.
