NEC IT3530 - Drums Compatable? 3520 / DI3510F

Hey techs,

I'm working on a NEC IT3530 and I need to replace the drum asap. I have a IT3520/2520 drum and also a Bizhub 3510F drum. They seem exactly the same, but apparently they may not be.

What would happen if I used those drums??


I've heard rumors that it is compatible... any experiences with such?

One way to find out....

I'd make sure the gears and pinout on the connector look the same FIRST, and also maybe call tech. support and ask them. They probably wouldn't recommend it, but MAYBE they'd tell you the 3520/30's could be swapped safely. I believe the OLDER one is NG.
Different photoreceptor, and possibly different gear?
LOOK.
PS don't forget about any 'keys' at the bottom that discourage/prevent swapping (and therefore potential DAMAGE to your main pwb's!!!!)
