That is not true sir. Not exactly anyway. If you had the service manual you would clearly see you do not need the drum reset kits (pico fuses) and that you could with a few keystrokes reset the drums. If you are in service mode imagewalker you do a ... well here it is...

        5.1.2.6 Initialize NVM
This self-diagnosis is used to initialize the nonvolatile memory.
        1. Continue to press the [MENU+] and [MENU-] keys until
        NV-RAM INITIALappears at the
top row of the display, and the system is in the self-diagnosis (Level 1) mode. The [MENU+]
key = Increment Test Item / the [MENU-] key = Decrement Test Item.
        2. When the [ENTER] key is pressed, the Table No. to be initialized appears at the bottom
row of the display. There are 3 tables initialized. Press the [MENU+] and [MENU-] keys
until the applicable Table No. appears. The [MENU+] key = Increment Table No. / the
        [MENU-] key= Decrement Table No.
        Do not use INITIAL 2.
        3. When the [ENTER] key is pressed, the
NV-RAM INITIALdisplay blinks at the top row
of the display. Press it for 10 consecutive seconds to initialize all items indicated in Table
        5-3.

        4. Press the [BACK] key to end the test. (Returns to state 1)

without printing the whole table the drum units are one of the nonvolitile memory items reset

But in this way you reset all drums, and you won't know which one is new and which one is old
I noticed that oki drums are very fragile, some of them will be scratched before the expected end of life

            Drum Reset

Ive reset them by placing the fuse in the leads of the cartridge at the rear you can place them in a way if you leave the fuse ends long and tuck it in real tight and put the drum back in the machine turn it on to ready (do not run machine) and then off again, remove fuse and there you go reset.......CAUTION IF YOU LET THE FUSE TOUCH ANYTHING AT ALL DURING THIS PROCEDURE YOU WILL DAMAGE THE MACHINE VERY EXPENSIVE TO FIX!!!!
