Epson Stylus Pro 4800 and changing the printhead

I have to change a print head and I have the manual and the print head and that manual says I need special tools for changing the printhead....Do I?
Anything to watch out for etc would be welcomed as well

    Thanks
    David
You never realize how cheap a professional is until after you let an amateur do it.... and
if this was an easy thing to do then everybody would be doing it! But it isn't and they are not!!

I don't know what manual you have but the full color manual I have doesn't mention anything about 'special tools'

I bought the manual from you...when you look up the changing printhead area its shows, in color, photos of 2-3 different tools to used during the change..have a look and see what you think....the prt head cost me almost $400. and I do not want to mess it up

      Thanks

That is in a different manual than the one you bought. I was looking in the Field Repair manual and Parts guide.

This might help you a little and give a general idea:

(darn thats one expensive printhead... current one clogged? Did you try any procedure to try to recover it?)

I have no idea. I've never even seen a 4800.

tried the cleaning utility quite a few times and the light grey was still weak...ser manual says to change it and the printer is 5-6 years old and used every day...so print head time!!

I changed the print head..takes a while ...as long as you follow the manual its not to bad...
all I need now is the Epson Adjustment Wizard 2 software utility to adjust the printhead settings.. any one have one to spare?
