OKI ES3640 Fusers. The Proverbial 'Rocking horse S***'

Hello All,

For my sins I have to look after several Oki machines. Wouldn't normally bother with resetting any drums/belts/fusers etc. as they don't often even last one full life let alone a second. Although I must say consumables are relatively inexpensive compared to other manufacturers.

Anyway my problem is, yet again no-one in the UK can get hold of any fusers for the ES3640 range.
Earlier this year it was Fukushima's fault now it's the 'Flooding in Thailand' ?? Might be true, might be total crap..

Have tried stripping an old one down to find a fuse but no luck and have looked in 'Diagnostic Mode' but the NVRAM reset is no longer available in this menu.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

We here in Holland are also in desperate need for Oki supplies and parts. The Fusing Unit of the ES-series is the same as the C9600/9800. The earthquake has had some serious consequences. I had to wait for almost a month for a Oki B430 Fusing Unit.

BTW, never do a reset in the service mode on this machines. You can really mess things up.

Hey, did you find the fuse? It is near the connector in black vinyl shild. It is a 0.125amp tiny fuse. I don't normally dis-assemble the unit - just break the plastic with pliers a little bit, fuse sits on the wire that is long enough to allow it to be pulled outside. Same fused we use to reset drum life, do dis-assemble is necessary. I think, there is on in the transfer belt....
These fuses are available on internet under 50c each....
