Internet fax machine?

Does anyone make an internet fax machine?

I'm looking for a device that a user can walk up to, stick some paper in, enter a fax number, and hit start, without having to have special knowledge of how it works. But instead of using a phone line, I want the machine to take the fax number, add @my-fax-provider.com, convert the scan to a PDF, and then email it.

Does such a beast exist? We have a Toshiba e-Studio 352 that claims to support internet fax, but it appears to be designed to work with other internet fax machines, not email-to-fax services.

Hi,
there are several provider that allow you to send faxes using your machine and smtp protocol (mail to fax services).
try with popfax.com for example.

Thanks. I already have an email-to-fax provider. I'm looking for a piece of hardware to go with it, that works just like a fax machine.

if you can do scan to email, and it seems you can: E-Studio 352 Toshiba Digital Copier with Fax, Network & Scanning Capabilities
then you can send faxes with the email to fax option of the internet fax service provider i mentioned you before.

in other word if your machine can send emails then you can leverage email to fax services.

Very true. Unfortunately, it requires training the user how to do it. You can't just walk up to my machine, enter a fax number, and hit start. It's not intuitive to use which is something I'm interested in.

Hi,
you simply have to setup once,that's normal because the machine is going to use a third party solution.
For PopFax.com for example you have to:
1) Create a new contact called PopFax with this details:
- email: mail2fax@popfax.com
- subject: use the code assigned to you by PopFax (you can change it)
- attachment: choose pdf format
- Body of the email: is the field you have to fill every time with the number of the destination fax.
2) the machine has to be previously setup with the default email address using the one you registered on popfax.
3) send the email that it will be automatically delivered as a fax
