    Epson dfx 8500

Hello out there, I'm working on an Epson DFX-8500 that is mangling the ribbon and has an E-6 error code.
I've ordered the pw sensor and ribbon mask and was wondering if I'm on the right track.
    Thanks

Sounds to me like a bad printhead.
the pins can get bent, and not retract back into the printhead properly, the ribbon catches on the pin and when the ribbon advances it tears.

If the damage is not to bad a good carefull cleaning of the printhead can help sometimes, but once the pins are bent it will only get worse.

Use a loop those pins are tiny.

The sensor fixed the E-6 code and the ribbon mask had a burr on it. Thanks
