hey jiongpao, how are you buddy . I Know the color code is different for each machine, i am willing to pay . Its generated based on system hardware config.
a machine is only as good as your tech : source:screwtape ; the scary one
The Kip3100 drum damage when meter reach 95k. It came out the line in the middle about 1cm thick. Now waiting for the new drum arrive approx 2 weeks more.
Just got a new toy last week Kip7100. This machine got a bit troublesome. First, it print a blank copy after unboxed, resit developer position and it work for 1 day. Tomorrow, it cant print after scanned. Totally no respond, no error code, no jam sign. After restoring IPS from recovery CD and it working fine now. Hopefully nothing happen for these few days
David,
It can not be done.
The code is generated by some combination of the controllers MAC address and the interface card.
Each interface card is specific to the printer.
Your best bet would be to swap out an entire controller that already has the color code on it.
I have 400 Kips out in the field and we have tried to crack that color code and it can not be done.
On early model Kips you would have to purchase the color scan option.
It's standard on all the new ones.
The KIP 3100 is a mono only printer, but you can add color scanning for a price.
Same BS with Oce' and Xerox doing their field upgradeable speed increase licenses. Basically you pay them a boat load more money, the tech comes out and enters a code and BAM, double the print speed.
Well thing is i feel like the dealer is charging a lot extra so i would give up the idea of upgrading my KIP 3100 with the colour scanner and go in for a full option 7100. So thats what the scuffle is . So i am exploring an option to generate the genuine colour code from KIP and not necessarily a crack . If some one can offer me KIP 3100 colour code for a reasonable amount I am ready .
GR81 thanks for your input but can you provide me a colour code from KIP if i give my MAC addresses and stuff.
kings: KIP is much better to use than OCE in terms of hardware but on the user front oce is much friendlier. BUt oce's radiant fusing always causes problems .I think its fusing temp is around 47C. In most central and northern parts of India that temperature is room temperature in summer. Also in humid areas it dosent fuse properly .No such problems in fusing with KIP's. Oce i had to pay a shitload for PS3 and queue manager .

David,
Dealer cost on the color scan upgrade is $741.00.
The 3100 is a discontinued model so you can get the code from any Kip dealer you want.
You just need to give the machine serial number to the dealer and they can get the code from Kip.
We are both a Kip and an Oce dealer and Kip is a way better machine.
We have never had an Oce we did not have major problems with.
Greg
Oce radiant fusing is a major issue here and I have e-mails from Oce stating that its an issue they cant resolve , atleast in India.
As of now I am quite happy with the KIP. The dealer is having some issues with his stock of consumables and I have to create some hell when I dont receive toner in time.

Getting Kip7100 is a replacement of kip3100, thats what i though. Those model are the same specification, same functions just the appearance is a bit different such as the position of touch screen, delivery tray and paper output direction. The rest are the same even they share with same service manual and part manual as well. But the good things purchasing kip7100 is included the code of print, print & scan and p-s-pdf. Its on packages when we purchased it and it come with newest IPS version.
I have a Kip 3100 and it comes up with KIP error Run time 52, can anyone help. I am not a Kip engineer but a Ricoh one and help this old dear out as she uses it very little.
Thanks for any help
Oh I don't have a keyboard attached to it if thats a problem

You most likely have a corrupt file in the logdir.
Rename it to logdir.old and create a new logdir folder.
