    KIP 700m INTERNAL COUNTER ERROR

Machine is generating "Internal Counter Error". I have done the following so far:
    -check F1 fuse -OK
    -check for 24v - OK
-check adjustment #753 set to zero - OK
-I also tried the error masking but this did not work.
-check error log. Counter error (e-0020) does not show in error log, found this odd.
Machine is operating after service code is entered after error appears. I found a post regarding firmware on this model, but am looking for advice from those with more knowledge than myself. Is this a known issue with this model?
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: KIP 700m INTERNAL COUNTER ERROR

I have Kip 7100 which I think is similar. Well, this message has come up twice in the past 4 months and find it baffling, becuase it asks you if I replaced some board and or replace the HD and Formatted. I select yes to both questions and machine comes back to life, wierd. This Kip 7100 has only been in the field for less than a year and already it has gone threw 1 HD and IPS/IF card. I'm suspecting the power distribution PWB if I run into another issue with IPS or wierd counter messages.

KonicaMinolta is in denial that my Kip has issues then blames power source at customer's location. Have had any other issues with your KIP??

I've heard the IPS needs a system restore fairly often. Restoring from the ghost on the hidden partition isn't reliably fixing issues, so it needs done from the external DVD drive. Be sure to write down or print the key codes before the restore.

I think if you guys will follow this link you will be able to get better answeres on the KIP line of products. The wide format is a different beast. I have worked strictly wide format for many years and I am not conviced Konica is able to give you some of the answers you need. This is another bulletin board website designed for strictly KIP wide format. Just follow this link and click on forums and you can read whats up before registering. http://www.keepitprinting.com/

After telling the machine I formatted and/or replaced the HDD at the prompt screen, the error has not returned. It has been a few days and no error so we shall see. From what I have been reading, including the above mentioned forum, there are many causes to this error.
          Thanks to all.

I did get a good chuckle from this call though. From time to time, the dispatcher will ask to grab meter reads while on site. Expecting the normal, MFP meter read with page counts, she was stunned when she saw the meter read in square footage. Confused, she looked up at me and asked what she was supposed to do with this. I answered "math", and walked away.
