[Error Code] Oce CS2044 Plotter Error

Hi,

one here for an Oce / Canon expert:

i've got an Oce CS2044 (same as a Canon machine - not sure of model) that has had a replace print heads message pop up each time I print (which is got around by pressing the online button at the start of every print.

the other day it started printing really slowly taking around half an hour to half print the final A1 page which stopped about 80% towards the end.

I had to eventually turn off the machine at the wall. Now when I power it up I get "Error E02813 Turn Power Off!" after the machine does its 5 minute startup cleaning routine.

i've done a Google search which suggests that the symptom is probably that the print head as finally reached the end of its life, but also suggests other issues:

The "Replace Print Head" message means it is time to replace the print head.
If that machine is similar to Canon/HP wide format printers that I work on, if you can afford the print head I don't think it is that hard to replace. You might want to first see if Paul has a user manual for that machine at his site (Just Manuals, The Internet's largest selection of manuals ~ Instant Downloads), a lot of times printer user manuals have the step by step procedures for things like that. Also, the user manual usually lists the service life of consumables like the print head, so that would give you an idea if anything else might be causing that problem like in the "Copiers Maryland" article.
