dell 2150cn not fusing properly

ive got a dell 2150cn that is having symptoms like a fuser is failing. only problem is when a new fuser is installed the symptoms stay the same, repeating ghost image that gets worse deeper into the run. the only way i can get clean prints is to cheat and set the printer to thick paper. has anyone seen this before?

Is the toner OEM Dell or aftermarket. Aftermarket often causes these symptoms on Dells Xeroxs. Just changing the toner won't fix it though as it is likely well primed into the imaging unit. If you have an extra imaging unit, try that first to confirm.
