Panasonic uf-7200

I don't have a service manual so I was wondering how to set up the fax to answer automatically when a customer has one phone line
and have an answering machine pick up first. The answering machine is set up for 4 rings and then picks up. THIS IS ON A UF-7200 FAX MACHINE.

As far as I know, once an answering machine has picked up the line, the fax machine can't 'take it over' unless you've got a special answering machine with some sort of pass-through fax feature. Did the customer upgrade from a home unit with built-in answering machine?
HOWEVER, it may be possible to utilize the 'tel' or 'ext' jacks for the machine. None of this should require the service manual. only user manual if default rings need to be changed.
Perhaps you need to provide more info, like do you have a line with distinctive ring, or are you using a special device to split the single line?

Thanks I found out customer did not have distinctive ring but customer decided to have me install a fax unit in their copier
and I was able to solve their problem by doing this.
