    PB C235 toner tips

    Exposure can be adjusted in the service mode in F6-11. Higher number goes lighter, lower number goes darker.

    This copier equipped with 'smart image +', very good at stabilizing image except for the following;
    1) If 2nd souce toner is used, It overtones. Bite the bullet and buy the PB stuff.
    2) Customer runs 'add toner' condition until the machine stops. It stops because the TD setting is too low to make another copy. By then smart image has its adjustments so far out of whack that when it finally gets toner it adds too much at once and trashes the developer. Symptom is background on all or part of the copies shortly after new toner and toner is dusting all over inside drum cavity. The only recovery I know is to change the developer and start over with new TD setting. This can be viewed/changed in F6-21.

    IMPORTANT! The smart image cannot be turned off. F6-82 shows a value set by smart image as it adjusts for various conditions. It will not accept any changes. It shows a value setting between -92 and +55 and can be a valuable tool in diagnosing the condition of the developer. The extreme low is trying to (rather failing to) compensate for overtonned condition, while extreme high is compensating for low toner condition. With fresh developer, F6-82 should show in a range between -10 and +30. Higher is ok, but lower than -10 and the copy quality won't last to the next PM. Adjust the TD value in F6-21 (set by machine after running F8-09) lower by at least 5. (should autoadjusted between -10 and +10)

    Still looking for op guide (thought I had 1) They are all in code. Printed op guide is necessary.
