Panasonic 4510 Workieo pwr switch inop

I reached down to the left to cycle the pwr, and the switch did nothing.
I had to use the main switch in the back.
I am not real familar with this model, is this something common that
    happens?
I tried to find it on the diagrams, but only had a laptop to view it with,
and not a lot of time to search for the switch.
    Any help would be helpful.

    Thanks

Did the power switch in the back cycle the power or did you have to pull the plug? If the switch in the back works and the switch in the front is non responsive it sounds to me like someone hardwired the switch in the front to constantly be on for some reason. Might wanna look into getting the switch / board replaced for that, only if the switch in the front is non responsive and the back switch will cycle power. Hope this helps.

The front switch is a soft power down. If you have checked the switch itself and it is good it may be a really old version of firmware. The old firmware is not recognizing the interrupt or does not know what to do with it and can not figure out how to boot the machine down. What is the firmware level it is running?

        Vista Tech and Utahrob1,
Thanks for the reply, The switch in the back works fine. The switch on
the front left does not. I ohmed it out. When closed it reads 1-2 ohms,
when open I get a reading of about 7M ohms. I did not isolate it from the
circuit so I assumed I was going through a couple of other componets to
get the reading I got. I will have to make some time for this one.
I do not know what the firmware version is I will get that info next trip.
Because that was my first look at this model I feel like I am walking on
        egg shells.
I won't be able to get to it till next week.

Thanks for your time and input
