I may be taking over the service on this copier. Customer saw me in one of their other offices and asked if I would look at it. They said it had a code and was told by the previous company that the copier could not be repaired; part(s)? were not available anymore. All I found was that the waste toner tank needed emptying. Should I heed the other companys possible warning and not mess with this copier or is it an ok copier to service. I've serviced a few Panasonics and found them ok. This one looks familiar.
    Thanks!!!

Tell them to throw it away. The Medallion series machines are no longer being supported by Panasonic. You can still get parts for them if you search really hard or have a company that specializes in antique pos machines, but coming from a tech that has experience with these machines I urge you RUN WHILE YOU CAN THESE THINGS ARE A PILE!

That is probably the only bad thing you will hear me say about Panasonic. I love the machines they make NOW, but the early digital / late analog machines were bad and no longer being supported by Panasonic.

Rubbish, these machines are great, we had loads of them out & thank god they have been all upgraded lol

no really though lasers where prone to go on them E01-22 Due to glue on the polygon mirror, the paper kink problem was a pain in the backside also (lazy clutch in a hard location) drums not that great (life) and if you no nothing about them, then replacing the dev will cause u great pain also

however the on/off swich was reliable but the ac/dc controller behind the switch used to go causing E04-01

as above Run for your life m8
