    DP-3010 nic

Have a customer that says the nic board does not work. I am not much for this area! I can use the firmware update tool and reflash the firmware. Control panel reads firmware update in progress. It goes through it's process and finishes no problem. Doesn't that rule out the network card? Thanks

Does the firmware match the print drivers? As an example, lets say the print drivers are PS, but the machine has PCL firmware. When the job is sent, you will hear the laser fire up, but no job will hit the queue of the machine. The job essentially "disappears". If you are using a crossover cable to update firmware, try loading the print drivers on the laptop. If you can print with a crossover and a laptop, you can eliminate a bad NIC.
Failing to plan is planning to fail!!!

With win 7 I am told you no longer need a cossover cable. I did it both ways with same results. It's gdi only copier no fax no nothing. This place is a college and usually just students for tech support. We don't support networking for them. With the firmwares going through I believe the network card is working.

Check that they configured the port for lpr printing with a queue name.

If you run an F9 device info, the page will print out whether or not PCL, or PS is installed. Did you check that before running your firmware update? If you didn't select the PS or PCL, it won't work properly.

            With the GDI print driver

go into printer properties, then ports, configure ports, and change the protocol from RAW to LPR.

then add lp in the queue name.
