Panasonic DP-C405 Service mode password reset?

Hi. We have recently purchased a used Panasonic DP-C405 from auction, and going to do a refurbish on it, but the default password "00000000", doesn't seems to work. We called the Panasonic help line, and they just told us to buy another SC board. It sounds to me that they want to make some money from selling me the board, I want to make sure that there is no way to reset it before paying an arm and a leg for the board.

Unfortunately, you do need another SC board. We had one come from Panasonic with the password already changed. We had to remove and send the board back. If there is a way, they are not giving it up. Try to find a used one as the new ones run over a grand.

Hello,

Just wonder are you trying to reset the key op p/w or service mode p/w? With key op p/w you can reset it with service mode F9-Ram initialize-Shipment set. I just can not remember with the service p/w though. I have to look into it and let you know.

You will need the password to even get into F9 service mode. If the SERVICE password is changed, you will need a new SC board.
