[Electrical] DP3520 fax job seems to be causing a reset loop

Scenario: Fax job sent out over phone line. Then system restarts. System completes initialization, comes on line and then the fax online light illuminates for a moment then the system resets & cycle continues. I can sometimes jump into the Service Menu, but I cannot navigate quickly enough to reach test 9, subtest 00.06 to reset all fax jobs.

Any suggestions or hints as to what the problem is?

Unplug the phone cord. Try to hard boot into service mode, and run F9-06-01 - all job clear. Set the ring detect count to 1 so it grabs the line before anything else has a chance to. Also make sure the print queue is clear as this can cause what you are describing. Your SC firmware should be AV32700.

I did unplug phone cord and have verified that the phone line behaves properly.

I have re-powered from system unplugged and can sometimes get into service mode, but cannot navigate properly & quickly enough before the system starts to reset.

I do not understand how to "try to hard boot into service mode." I think I have been in a race to get to there but cannot seem to win before the system resets. Can you please clarify? Maybe I am not doing something correctly.

Setting the ring detect count to 1... I guess fax receive is a higher priority than fax transmit. If true, then that would force the system to try to do something different than it is presently doing. Is that the correct thinking?

The F9-06-01 (all job clear) should clear all in memory jobs... This should be both fax transmit & print jobs right? Or, is there a better procedure to clear the print queue rather than the front panel, print, queue clear keypad steps?

PS. The manuals say
Press the "FUNCTION", "ORIGINAL SIZE (LEDGER/A3)" and "3" keys simultaneously in that order to enter the Service Mode.
What does that really mean? To me, simultaneous does not imply an order. Is Press and continue to hold each in sequence. a better description? OR, just press them all simultaneously OK?

Hard boot: hold down FUNCTION and CLEAR and power on the unit. It should go directly into service mode.
All Job Clear: it clears all jobs, fax and print
The ring detect sets the fax kit to pick up after the first ring. This is more of a precaution to grab the line first if anything else is using the same phone line.
As for the sequence I always go FUNCTION, then ORIGINAL SIZE then 3. It is more of a sequence then a simultaneous press.
If that doesn't work, try removing the fax kit and see if the machine stabilizes.
If it has a HDD installed, try unplugging it as a bad HDD is very common on these models.

If I may expound on the definition of a Hard Boot, based on recently acquired information.

Hard Boot into Service Mode:
Soft Power Switch (left) OFF. Main Power Switch (rear) OFF.
Soft Power Switch ON.
Depress FUNCTION & CLEAR buttons & Power ON the Main Power Switch. Continue holding keys until the Service Menu appears.
