Color/Black drum replacement

Moderncopiertech informed me that the black drum can be used in place of the color drum in the DP-C262. Thanks Moderncopiertech . My question is can this work on other color machines. I see that the pricing is the same for both drums in the 406/306/266 machines so it really does not matter with this series machines. I know that in the Ricoh machines we could use black drums in place of color drums with no problems. Would like to get info from techs who has used black drums in place of color drums.

yup they are all the same drum happy modifying have had many many in the field working great aswell

Thank you. I have 2 machines on the floor. All drum units can fit into any slot. Not sure if I understand how to modify. Can you elaborate on this procedure.
