i have dp-1820 panasonic its show the spanner red with out any error code and also the paper tray empty mesage ?
i try to initializing the ram but still same? the paper is full in cassette but showing no paper?
can any one help how can reset and resolve this problem.

Check to see if your paper lift motor has a cracked case . I have run into this before.

Have you tried the fuser reset in service mode?

I had a 1520 do this Friday. If it has a wrench and add paper listed, do an F9-06 and scroll to 04 and reset fuser. The customer opened the cassette to remove jam when this occured. Tha add paper is covering up the code and the lift of the paper will not happen until code is cleared. Try F8-06 to view code.
