    DP 8060 with a Constant U9

As the title says, I have an 8060 with a constant U9.I have replaced the sensor 3 times and verified the operation of the actuator.I have physically blocked and unblocked the sensor.I have my 5 volts and ground going to the sensor.I can monitor the signal to a certain degree and there is something there.I go to F4-005-4 and the signal does not toggle.I have verified on another machine that this is indeed the U9 toggle.I pulled the harness, one of the easier harness in this box, and ohm'ed it out.It is just your standard 3 wire harness and all continuity is good. No sign of damaged wiring. So today I just swapped out the DRV board. And I get exactly the same thing. A constant U9.Yoda. Help!! Doug

The DRV pwb is connected to the SPC pwb. I would replace the SPC pwb if it will not go hi/low in F4. Also, make sure the actuator is still in one piece and ensure the sensor is sitting properly in the frame.

I just replaced the SPC board. Thinking that if there was something blowing out the sensor, I replaced the sensor again. Same thin. A constant U9. For no reason whatsoever, I also did an "All Job Clear" and a "Shipment Set" just in case it was some wierd, scuzzy piece of data that was holding it down. No luck. I am now going to pull the harness from another machine and swap that out. If that doesn't work, about all I can see left would be the SC board. Here's me, Fingers Crossed. Doug

Pull the feed head plugs and power it on. Inspect the wires at the rear of the feed assembly. There is a known issue where the the feed clutch shaft wears the wire and usually causes E5-01. However, I have seen that worn wire cause many oddities. It sounds like a weird one ; I figured it was worth mentioning.

So I replaced the sensor again. I pulled and replaced the harness. I replaced the SPC and DRV boards. Finally, I replace the SC. No Change. Just that ever constant U9. The box is now in the shop and the customer realizes that this is probably a good time to upgrade. Panasonic Engineering has no idea what is wrong and urges me to let them know what it is when I figure it out.
