    Panasonic input on FS-330 finishers

I just got in 2 used FS-330 finishers. They want them installed. They are working right now. Since I have not seen these before, I was wondering what those of you that have seen them, what you thought about them. At first sight they don't look like they can handle the load. They also have a clutch that moans. Any way, what the word?

I don't have any of these anymore and it has been a while since I have seen one but what I remember is that, overall, they were a fairly reliable finisher. If you are hearing sounds from the clutch, replace it. I had a few boards and clutches that caused problems but without a doubt, the biggest problem were the actuators attached to the belts behind the stapler cover. They look like they are just there for the paper but in reality, below the belt assembly are two sensors. One for each actuator. If one falls off, it will throw a code. I don't remember which one. The actuators are just pressed onto the belt and when they fall off you usually can't find them. I always carried a couple of belts (the actuators were a part of the belt) and just replaced the actuators as needed, not the entire belt. I finally got to the point where I was gluing the into place. Oh yeah, it doesn't take a whole lot to break off the top tray. Pull it off and look at how small the tabs are that holds it into the frame. That's about all I have for now. Gut reaction. It shouldn't be a big problem, assuming you can get the parts.

Thanks Doug. I feel better now about putting them out. My boss is going to put them out anyway.

These are a pretty good box. As mentioned earlier, the top trays always seem to get broken, but generally they are good runners.
