DPC Question on Toner and Developer

The following is what I know so far:

    DPC 405/305/262 uses: DQ-TUV toner & DQ-ZN480 developer

    DPC-406/305/266 uses: DQ-TUV toner & DQ-ZN480 developer

    DPC-354/264/323/263 uses: DQ-TUS toner & DQ-ZN480-PU developer

    DPC-213 uses: DQ-TUT toner & DQ-ZN480-PU developer

Here is my question: Is there any way around this? I ask because the DQ-TUV toner is 75% higher in cost than the others. Just wondering if anyone has found a way to get around all this mess. Maybe some of you who have been around the Panasonics longer than me. Me... less than a year.

The toner carts are "keyed" to the hoppers on the different units. You could change the hoppers to fit different toner. As to the actual chemical composition of the toner itself, you could compare the MDSDs.

The key for the toner bottle is actually on the shutter for the dispensing whole on the bottle. i have moved shutters between C322 amd C354 series bottles when one was on backorder. it just slips right off. I am not sure If it is that easy on all the bottles or not. I did not see adverse affects from the one bottle changes i have done but we went back to original toner with the next bottle.

I saw some after-market toner on AAAtoner.com for the C322 but am afraid to try it.

The problem with the toner bottle swap by just replacing the slide on the cartridge is that the back of the bottle
where the auger mates with the bottle is different. You can swap them, but you will get low toner messages
when there is toner in the bottle.

I've been buying the 405 toner/drums and developer and using that in all my C3's with no issues.

We refill the appropriate bottle in the shop for each machine and have had no problems
