    Communication utility not running

    I have an account with an 8060 set up for scanning. Has been working fine for the past 6 months. Lately they have called a couple of times for not being able to scan. When I get there the utility is not running. I reboot thier computer(s), and all is well. Any ideas as to what may be causing this?

    Windows.

    Teach the customer to check for it before calling. Start charging them for not learning.

      When you install the communication utility, it gives you the option to create a start up item. Someone is turning it off, the reboot calls for the start up menu and the programs turn on with the PC. I always ask if the blue icon is in the tray before going on site.

        if the icon is there, and the name doesn't show on the copier, i would check the anti-virus/internet security software and windows firewall. The software communicate with the machine every 30mins(default), some software might treat it as a threat and blocks the communication.
