    8060 E03-25

    Hello everyone,

I have an 8060 with an E03-25. It's not the white drum drive gear behind the flywheel or the drum unit. I'm pretty sure it's in the drive. It makes a kind of grrr or whir when it starts to turn but quiets up when it gets going.

Thoughts? Also, can I put in the drum drive section from a 6020 into the 8060? I'm pretty sure they're the same.

Any advice is appreciated! Thanks in advance.
Just because you're not paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you.

The only time I have seen this code was when a cleaning blade flipped. Wished I could help more. You mentioned a gear. Is the gear a known problem?

I've had a flipped cleaning blade cause this code before as well. Although, most of the time when this code comes up it's because the plastic drum gear being shattered around the pin. I've had it happen maybe a half-a-dozen times or so. Usually on machines with over a million pages through them.

The gear is perfectly intact in this case so it's not the problem this time around.

No thanks but why always $12.77? Seems like such an arbitrary number.

I replaced the drive with another from a different 8060. I think a 6020 drive would have worked but I didn't want to risk it.

Also found a straw from an air can in the old drive. Figure that may have had something to so with it but I replaced the drive anyway to be safe.

            Thanks
