Workio DP-3030 jamming when running multiple duplex copies

I have a DP-3030 that is jamming when duplexing, but only when making multiple copies. When a single duplex copy is made, it does not jam. As soon as you try and make two or more duplex copies at one time, it jams. Also, when it does jam, there is always two pieces of paper on top of each other. It looks to me that somehow when the machine goes to feed the second piece of paper somehow it is ending up in the paper path of the first copy. It jams anywhere from right before the fuser, to just as it enters the buffer pass unit. Wondering if anyone has seen this before or has any sugesstions. Just an FYI... out of the 1,000 machines I manage, this is the only Panasonic I work on, so I have limited knowledge and resources available to me.

What jam code do you get. It will be displayed on the LCD panel when it jams. Or you can get the code by enetring service mode. Function>original size>3. Password all zeros. Press 9 to enetr F9 mode. Machine info. This will print out a page with jam code info. This will help us help you.

      duplex jams Panasonic dp3030....

That sounds like a slow gate to me, since we are assuming that is letter paper that you are using (11 x 17, the edge will almost get out of the machine left side when turning back in) please check the gate if is cracked the gate that I am talking is rigth after the fuser, divert the paper to the turn around transport. I had one doing this to me and it had a crack first copy was fine, 2dn jammed. Try with 2 copies so you can observe . Next thing will be to take the transport out and the belt tensioner from the little motor in back, give it a little tension or replace if available. Goog luck let us know how you do.

The jam codes I am getting are J31 most commonly, and once in a while J01. And I have tried stopping the copy process in the middle of a duplex copy and there are to pieces of paper in the fuser, but they are not lined up with one another, and they each have printing only on one side. Making one duplex copy at a time still is not a problem, only when multiple duplex copies are made at once. Thanks for the feedback so far, let me know if this info gives you any more ideas.

Replace the registration sensor spring and actuator arm. These can stick and cause J31 when doing duplex. This is the sensor directly underneath the black rubber registration roll.

Hey sorry for the late response, but I am ordering some parts and will be headed out to the machine next week to try some of these suggestions. Thanks again for all the help, I had no idea where to even start with this machine.

I usually start at the dumpster with this model, but my boss frowns upon it.
