    Re: Panasonic DP-1520P

I was looking forward to seeing the solution to this problem and now it looks I'll have to find one since I have a 1520 with the exact same problem.

The machine I'm working on was working fine previously and then yesterday morning the customer got the U90 code to replace battery and decided to replace it themselves. They took the time to look through the user manual and I am under the impression they did it right but after they replaced the battery the machine just beeps three times when the start button is pressed. The U90 is gone and the display says ready to copy but it just beeps if you try to make a copy. I too can make copies in F2 and F3 but can't print out any of the internal print-outs. The replacement of the battery seems to be a common link between the two machines and I'm not sure how or if it could have effected the machines or if it's just a side-effect of another problem.

I'm 99% certain none of the buttons are stuck and I double-checked all the F5 settings and all dept. counters are off. Besides that, I tried a different battery and I used the all job clear feature in F9 as it sometimes fixes squirrely electrical bugs but, in this case, it didn't help. I'm still trying to think of possible solutions and will post what fixes it as soon as I figure it out.
Just because you're not paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you.
    O.o

What happens when a print job is sent to it? I doubt it comes out, just wondering out loud. Sounds like a bad board or something else just as fun.

The one I'm working on isn't set up to print but I wondered the same thing.

I have a feeling it might be.

I reached out to someone who has been servicing Panasonics since the invention of the wheel. He said that a shipment reset took care of this symptom. If that does not do it then try a "flash memory clear" and "parameter initialize" in that order. Remember to input the F5, F6,and F7 data after doing any of this. Let us know how it comes out.

Well, I didn't follow your instructions exactly but I got the machine working. I've gotten myself into more trouble with the shipment set option then I care to admit and since Richie said he didn't have any luck it with it, I decided to save that for last if neither of the other resets worked. I tried the parameter initialize first and had no luck with that one. Next, I did the Flash Memory Clear and that got it working again. I'm glad I wrote down all of F5, F6, and F7 values because that baby took out everything lol. I've never had to use it before so I wasn't aware of exactly what it did. Nevertheless, after I put all of the F mode values back to where they should be, it made a copy without beeping at me and I can now do internal print-outs again, so it's good to go.

I suggest you give it a try Richie but definitely make sure you write down all of the F5, F6, and F7 values before you do.
