    Panasonic DP2310 - Scanning setup

I am installing an old panasonic dp2310 for a client. I have it on a network and can get it to print from all computers but, I cannot get it to scan,
Do you have to have the document manager software to scan? what about FTP scanning? I want to scan from copier to a folder on networked computers preferably in pdf format but tiff would work I guess.
If anyone can help me figure this out, I would greatly appreciate it.

Do you have the scan key installed? (any "option not installed" when you press the scan button?). If installed, then you need to download "panasonic comunication utility" and configure it .No need for document manager, and you cant scan to ftp. You can choose tiff or pdf. Print machine information in F9 mode to see any installed options.

When I load a doc in adf and push scan it scans the doc and tries to send it to the computer selected in addressbook, but after awhile it gives and error and prints an error receipt.
So the option must be installed. Where can I find the panasonic communication utility? I did not see it on their website where I got the print drivers. I have tried downloading and installing web monitor, device monitor and nothing.

I believe you will also need the optional HDD for this model. In service mode F9, print device info, machine information. This printout will list all options installed on the machine.

Failing to plan is planning to fail!!!

I found the PCU download. So I am going to try this.

You dont need a hard drive for scanning. If it tries to send, then its not a copier problem. You have to reinstall pcu.(sometimes it gets blocked by firewalls or antivirus.).If you see your computer in the scanning window and the pcu is not installed on this computer, then it has been manually configured in the adress book. You should remove all manually installed computers and let the pcu register the computer it is installed on .
