    MC210 Code 12

I went to this machine about a month ago for this same problem and the yellow developer/drum in the color drum unit didn't feel right. I tried cleaning it out and was not successful but I had a new color drum unit, put it in, and the machine ran fine but now the code is back again.

I haven't been out to the machine again to see if this is a because of the drum unit again but I doubt it would be. Going to go check it out tomorrow so, I'm just looking for some opinions on possible problems and solutions any of you fine folks out there may have run into. Thanks in advance!
Just because you're not paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you.

First of all I'm not that familiar with this model. Only had one service call to date. You can check the color motor by selecting menu>#>9000>556 press 2 and set button. Maybe you can do it with only one unit in the machine at a time, not sure.

I'm not that familiar with them either.

I'm aware of that test and I can't remember if it'll let you run the test without a drum in it. I don't think I could do it but my memory ain't so good. I'm going to take a new motor along and hope that's it. Thanks for the tip!

This time it was the cyan developer that was bound-up. I'm not sure what it's called but there's a metal blade that sits against the Mag roller, that was flipped-up and binding-up the unit. I was able to bend the blade back but now it doesn't print cyan across the entire page and the cyan drum is leaving lines but it's not coding.

I discovered that you can run the color motor without the color drum in it and you can even have the front door open and watch everything spinning. The motor is fine and running as it should. I'm not sure why it bound-up again and I'm afraid if I put another new color drum unit in, it's going to bind-up one of the developers again.

This customer isn't getting their toner from us but it looks OEM. As a precaution, I'm going to replace their color toners when I go back with the new color drum unit. Not sure what else would be causing the problem but if anyone else has any ideas, I'd be glad to hear them.

        Thanks!
