    panasonic 8020 fade discolor copies

just 2 months ago i faced a problem with workio 8020, the copies were fading (very light colour)and i found that developer had ended.Changed developer and all were ok.
Now my customer said that it has the same problem .
    Any thoughts?

Sounds like no toner is getting to the dev unit. There is a coupler on the back of the process unit that receives drive to add toner to the developer. Sometimes it gets stuck and does not engage. Its spring loaded. Also check to see that the auger system is turning to add toner. I assume you did an F8 when you installed developer? How many counts on the drum? Are prints and copies light?

        copiman
i looked to the problem (dissasembled and cleaned the the back of the process unit) today according to your suggestions and the copier works fine , i looked also into the developer unit just to see if there is enough dev and was ok. i suspect that the problem is the toner bottle motor but will see how the things going in the future.
Before this, copies and prints (memory test page f1) were light .Maintenance kit has taken place last month and since then the machine produced 20.000 copies.
        Now its ok
        We will see .....
        Thanks

Glad to hear things are ok. The volume you mentioned seems high. Did you say 20,000 in one month? The average monthly volume for this machine should be around 5,000 per month. If they are running 20,000 per month, this could be a problem. Just fyi.

Agree with copiman, the volume is killing it slowly.

            We have a customer doing 6-8k on a DP-190.
Averages 3 toner carts, a fuser, and ADF rolls every month.
It is rated for 750 per month.
